Adam Martter, Executive Chef
Bistro 2110
The Blackwell Inn at Fisher College

How could this be? One of the city’s Top 10 restaurants hidden away on the Ohio State University campus? Bistro 2110 appears on the 2004-2005 fine dining list compiled by the Grumpy Gourmet.

Bistro 2110 is open to the public.

When Blackwell Inn opened in mid-2002 powers at the Fisher College of Business planned for the best. The Inn has 151 rooms intended to appeal to people doing business with the university and the constant flow of conference attendees at the Blackwell. Bistro 2110’s opening was planned and executed by then executive chef Roger Garland, now food and beverage director. At opening Garland’s sous chef was Adam Martter, a graduate of the Pennsylvania Institute of Culinary Arts. Martter brought with him a resume of tony private club experience and the ability to put out five to 10 different banquet functions at one time.

Martter’s career includes stints at Chicago’s Four Seasons Hotel and the Hyatt on Capitol Square, Columbus. At Four Seasons he assisted in 12-course tasting menus and and prepared lunch menus for buffets. “That experience was what sold me on working in hotels rather than restaurants,” he says.

The Bistro 2110 demands full use of chef Martter’s experience. He oversees breakfast buffets with 15 to 20 hot items. Lunch buffets offer 25 items plus. Dinner checks average in the $40 range.

Repeat: Bistro 2110 is open to the public.
